October 26, 2020 We met on Hinge during the toughest part of the pandemic. Joey had recently moved back to his home town of Santa Clarita and Shaunna had just recently downloaded the Hinge dating application. We matched on October 26, 2020 and over the next two months we spent countless hours talking on the phone and FaceTiming to get to know one another "the old fashion way." We had our first dinner date over FaceTime and also mastered watching shows together over FaceTime. On January 1st, 2021 we had our first in person date at the Westlake Village Lake. Joey was standing outside the Yacht Club with 3 beautiful red roses and was pacing back and forth with excitement to finally meet in person. We spent the next 4 hours walking 4 miles around the lake and talking like we had known each other for years. This day was the beginning of something truly special.

January 1, 2022 Joey asked to meet at the exact spot where we had our first in person date. Living less than a mile away from each other it was a little odd that Joey wanted to drive separately to the lake, but Shaunna still didn't have any suspicions and thought the plan for the day was to recreate our first date. We met outside the Yacht club at the Westlake Village Lake at 11:00am and Joey was pacing back and forth with 3 beautiful red roses, just like our first date. After we spent some time taking pictures Shaunna asked to go to the car to grab her jacket! As Shaunna stood up to walk to the car, still completely clueless, Joey said he had something else planned for the day. Joey asked Shaunna to take off her mask and about halfway through his speech it hit Shaunna that the day she had been waiting for was here. Joey got down on one knee and asked Shaunna to marry him! Shaunna was shocked, in tears and shaking not even noticing the beautiful ring Joey picked out for her! Joey had someone capturing the whole proposal for the two of them to look back on for years to come. Shaunna then learned that they were not going on another 4 mile walk, and that their families were both in on the surprise and were all waiting at a restaurant on the lake to celebrate with them!
