On the lovely Cary Street of Richmond, the Can Can has good oysters and great atmosphere.
A short 45-minute drive from Richmond, Colonial Williamsburg is a great day trip. You can meet historical figures (huzzah!) and enjoy the town without an admissions pass. There are plenty of delicious restaurants on Duke of Gloucester Street (aka DOG Street) as well. Reservations are advised for the Dog Street Pub or the Blue Talon Bistro.
