We were two PhD students at FSU, one in the Department of Political Science and one in the Department of Geography. We met at the graduate student social in Strozier Library. Joseph's first impression of Yoon was that she was stunning, brilliant, and kind, while Yoon's first impression of Joseph was that he was bright but overly serious. After chatting for a couple of hours, we said farewell until a chance meeting in the Bellamy building hall let us catch up and exchange numbers! **Groom's secret** It wasn't a chance meeting. Joseph knew where Yoon's office was and walked past it multiple times a day, waiting for Yoon to walk in or out. Eventually, we started studying together and had very academic dates at the DIRAC library on campus, where we sat at the counter, drank coffee, and wrote papers. We grew closer and closer over the next few years and spent many weekends at St George Island beach, Wakulla Springs, and daily yoga trips. Eventually, in August 2023, shortly before Yoon started work as a professor at KU, we went on a trip to Chicago. At the fabulous restaurant Ever, Joseph proposed! The year since has been us dreaming about our life together and getting things started!
