What should I wear? // Cosa mi metto?

Answer

Please wear what will make you comfortable! As a guide, beach-chic to cocktail attire guidelines are both great. Sandals are welcome. Maxi dresses, cocktails dresses, or snazzy separates. As the weather cools off in the evening, both ladies and men may prefer a light jacket. // Indossate ciò che vi fa sentire a vostro agio! Come suggerimento, sia un look da spiaggia chic che un abbigliamento da cocktail vanno benissimo. I sandali sono i benvenuti. Vestiti lunghi, abiti da cocktail o capi eleganti. What will the weather be like? // Che tempo farà?

Answer

The weather will (hopefully) be sunny and comfortable! In late May, you can expect lows in the evening to be approx. 55-60°F with daytime temps at around 70°F. // Si spera che ci sia il sole e si stia bene! We'll be serving hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour followed by a sit-down dinner with a choice of entree. Your RSVP will also allow you note any dietary restrictions. Of course! Many of our guests coming from Italy will be staying in Vasto Marina. If you do stay outside, expect to have a car. // Certo! Molti dei nostri ospiti provenienti dall'Italia soggiorneranno a Vasto o Vasto Marina. Se decidi di farlo anche tu, meglio avere una macchina a disposizione.

Yes! There is parking at Vistamare - Camping Village Grotta del Sarceno from the main road on Via Osca as well as beach parking. Details coming shortly. // Sì! I heard about this new visa thing for Europe in 2024. What is it? How do I get it?

Answer

It is an online registration for travel in Europe. So what do you do? It's similiar to checking into a flight. You fill out the application form (passport info, flight details) using either the official ETIAS website or the ETIAS mobile application. Applying for the ETIAS travel authorization costs 7 euros. Most applications are processed in 2 minutes! What flight should I take?

Answer

The information is on the "Travel" section of the website. We suggest our guests to book a flight that leaves on Wednesday, May 29th. Our complimentary shuttle will leave approx. 8:30am from FCO on Thursday May 30th. Here are three flights that we recommend: ✈️ American Airlines: AA 110 (Direct Flight) ☞ Depart ORD on Wed. May 29th at 3:40pm ☞ Arrive FCO on Thurs. May 30th at 7:45am ✈️ American Airlines: AA 332 (Stopover JFK) ☞ Depart ORD on May 29th at 11:50am ☞ Arrive FCO on May 30th at 7:15am ✈️ United: UA 970 (Direct Flight) ☞ Depart ORD on May 29th at 3:50pm ☞ Arrive FCO on May 30th at 7:55am Upon arrival at FCO, directly after baggage claim, a driver will be waiting to bring our friends and family on a chartered minibus/van. It is approx a 3 hour drive to the lodging in Vasto. We will have a casual welcome dinner on your first night in Italy!

How will transport work? Do I need to rent a car?

Answer

The venue/lodging is in the same location, so if you book at Camping Village Grotta del Saraceno you'll be steps away from the ceremony, welcome dinner, and reception! The village has a pharmacy, mini market, restaurant, cafe, private beach, pool, and gym so most essentials will be easy to reach. So: no car required! (However, if you'd like to explore Vasto and the surrounding towns, a car is the best option.)

Will my phone work in Italy?

Answer

Check with your phone provider to see if they offer international packages. For example, AT&T offers an international phone pass for $10 a day. You can also buy an international SIM card at the baggage claim at FCO. If not, WiFi is available at the venue.

When should I book my flight?

Answer

Flights typically become available around 11 months before departure. I'll update the travel section with a suggested flight.

I don't speak Italian! Will I be okay?

Answer

Yes. ♥ While it's great to learn a few words (grat-zee-ay!) our transport will have an English-speaking driver and the venue/lodging is used to accommodating tourists and speaking in English. For activities in the area outside the wedding events, it may be helpful to have Google translate just in case. We're excited to welcome family & friends from all over the world - kindness, laughter, and fun is a universal language.

Can you tell me about the location?

Answer

Vasto is a town and comune on the Adriatic coast of the Province of Chieti, in southern Abruzzo. The old part of the town features a number of buildings and churches dating from the 12th-18th centuries, including: Vasto Cathedral, Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, with a quite tall bell tower, Castello Caldoresco, D'Avalos Palace and the Musei Civici. Below the hill on which the town is located, the beach resort town of Marina di Vasto offers a large sandy beach and several hotels and other facilities. Further north the coast becomes rocky and features interesting pebble and stone beaches and coves, as well as the typical "trabocchi", typical wooden fishing machines of the Southern Abruzzo coast. Amongst the natural areas, also featuring a number of sandy and rocky beaches, is the protected natural area of the Riserva Naturale di Punta Aderci.
