https://mtprinceton.com/ We love this place!! Mount Princeton Hot Spring Resort is a beautiful, mellow spot where you can relax and rejuvenate in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This laid back resort is located in Nathrop, Colorado between the towns of Buena Vista (10 min) and Salida (20 min) and about 2.5 hours from Denver. The natural geothermal hot spring pools offer a unique, rejuvenating, and relaxing experience in a stunning mountain setting overlooking the Chalk Cliffs of Mount Princeton. The pools range in temperature from 70 to 120 degrees, allowing you to choose the perfect level of heat, then you can jump into the river for a cold plunge. There is a lovely onsite spa and fitness center, tennis courts, bar, restaurant, beer garden, and market. Each night you stay, you can soak all day and night for the day of your check in and check out. You also get 2 days of free mountain or fat bike rental (and snowshoe or cross country ski rentals if there is still snow on the ground in May), tennis racket rentals, free daily fitness classes, and 10% off of any spa treatments.

Short answer, anything you think you will need! There is a small market, a restaurant, bar and beer garden, but EVERYTHING CLOSES AT 9PM. If you want snacks and water and booze, make a stop at a store on your way in, as there are limited options at the resort...especially after hours. There are grocery stores, liquor stores, and shops of all kinds in both Buena Vista and Salida. If you are coming from Denver, you can stock up there.
Be prepared that the resort is 8,250 feet above sea level. Much like many other things in Colorado, that is really high :)! Be prepared if you are not coming from elevation....this is no joke! Drink a ton of water, try to acclimate before you do a strenuous workout or hike, and watch your booze intake especially on the first night!
Again, we'd love to have everyone join us at the Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort all weekend, but if you'd prefer to stay in either Salida or Buena Vista, there are plenty of Airbnb options as well as hotels. Buena Vista is the home of The Surf Hotel. This is a beautiful spot right on the the Arkansas River and it does not disappoint. Salida has a number of small hotels and motels as well. UBER, Lyft, and taxis are not an option up here, so if you plan to stay off site, be sure to have a DD.
The average high temperature in May is 72 and the average overnight low is 42. That being said, it is not outside the realm of possibility to have snow in May or to have an 85 degree day. Check before you come, and come prepared. No matter how warm it is during the day, the nights are cold, so be sure to pack a jacket.
