Is Long Island City hard to get to from other boroughs?
Answer
No! It's right across the East River from midtown Manhattan. But if you're not familiar with NYC, you should know that Brooklyn and Queens are notoriously tedious to travel between by subway. If you choose to stay in Brooklyn, your best bet for getting to welcome drinks and the wedding might be Ubers/taxis. On the other hand, LIC is directly linked to midtown Manhattan by multiple subway lines and is the first stop on the other side of the East River. The only flag here is that the Ravel Hotel is a bit of a walk from the train, and it may be bitterly cold outside. The welcome drinks venue is very close to the 7 train.
