Costumes required, but there is no theme ...any costume you imagine. We encourage creativity, but even a funny hat, a boa or a mask will be appreciated.

I was day-tripping at Asbury Park beach in 2013, and I saw a guy I recognized from Chelsea years and years earlier. I followed him into the water and said, “Hey! You are Jorge, right?” as a wave knocked me down and my sunglasses went flying. We became friends (Jorge was NOT single). He didn’t really remember me from the gym & rollerblading on the piers in the early 90s, but we hit it off (& I was deeply attracted). I made him a costume for Thriller that year (I really had it bad for him), and we will be revisiting that theme for our costumes at the marriage celebration.

Groom

There was a movie night out on the sundeck at the Chelsea Piers gym -- the movie? "Elf"! We were the only two laughing (so hard) at this movie; I knew then that this guy and I had the same kind of sick humor. We followed up with another date, a night of music at Barbes in Brooklyn. At the end of the night we kissed, and this felt different, it felt like something was changing inside of me. It felt like I had found my soulmate. But just when I thought I could not have found a better partner, we bonded over our love of costumes and makeup for what else? Thriller!
