Jordon & I knew who each other were through our friends, Katie & Hunter Hornsby, but I didn’t know Jordon personally. I didn’t meet Jordon until Katie & Hunter’s wedding in 2020. We didn’t even speak to each other at their wedding because we were both involved in other relationships. Later that year, Jordon was single & moved back home. Katie had been telling me for weeks “you know Jordon is single & he’s been asking about you alot lately.” I would always reply with “no Katie, you know I’m in a relationship.” In September, I helped throw a birthday party for Katie. Hunter invited Jordon. He was still single, & I was still in a relationship. I found myself so nervous and giddy to be around Jordon. We didn’t say much to each other that night. A couple weeks pass & Jordon adds me on Snapchat. I immediately texted Katie & asked her “is JHarris making a move?” She didn’t know about this & was just as caught off guard as me. I added him back. Not even a week later, my relationship ended due to it’s own issues. A couple days pass & I decided I’d start a conversation with Jordon. A week later, he asked me if I wanted to go to dinner. I told myself there’s nothing wrong with dinner, just getting food with a friend. But I knew it was so much more than that. Katie was ecstatic that this was finally happening. She now considers herself Jordon’s wingwoman. I was beyond nervous getting ready to go to dinner with Jordon. I knew it was a first date. He took me to La Parilla because “what girl doesn’t want cheese dip.” After we ate, I didn’t want the date to be over so I told him to come inside and meet my dog, Marley. She was NOT a fan of Jordon. It’s so funny because now she loves him more than me. After our date, I knew Jordon was the one for me. God saw the situation I was in and placed Jordon in my life at the perfect time. We both knew after a short time that we were meant for each other. I am so thankful to have met Jordon, & that he is the one who was made for me.
I had been asking Jordon for weeks about going to KBC for a date night. He would always put up a fight because he didn’t think their food would be as good as everybody makes it out to be. He’d always say no. But this one week, he offered to take me to KBC and I immediately knew something was going on. I went to get my nails done, my hair had just been done, I ordered a new dress. I was ready just in case he decided to pop the question. We went to KBC on a Friday night. It was SO hot inside KBC. I was sweating so bad. In my mind I was thinking, “he’s gonna propose to me and I’m gonna be dripping sweat!!” I ordered some macaroons and after we ate those, I was ready to get out of there. When we got outside, he wanted to walk around and check out Foster Street. We went just right across the street to a little park. I could tell he was stalling for something. A second later, Marley comes out from around the corner and I see Mikayla and Bradley, then Connor and Sage. I was thinking “um what’s going on here?” Jordon was standing a couple feet away. He called me over, and I knew this was it. He said “You know I love you more than anything.” He pulled out a ring, got on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was the happiest, sweetest moment. Even if our timing and our photographers timing was off. The easiest “yes” ever. We had talked about when we would get engaged. We both agreed after we had been together for a year. But this was sooner than planned. Why wait when you know you want to spend your life with this person?!
