It all began on Mitchell's first day of college. He was a freshman, I (Jordan) was a sophomore. I helped move him into his dorm room... I love this story. Obviously, because it's our story. But it also shows the amazing ways that God works on our behalf when we have no clue. During Mitchell's senior year of high school, he committed to play for a college lacrosse team in Ohio. His plans were to go that next fall - that is until he felt an urgency the month before graduating to visit Liberty University. The next weekend, he drove 10+ hours to see LU. Within 2 days, Mitchell had been accepted and asked to join the lacrosse team. During this same time, I was finishing up my freshman year at Liberty. I had made some great friends that year, but one by one they all told me they would be leaving LU. I was so bummed. I began praying for an adventure buddy for my sophomore year. Now here's the good part... I was helping move in the freshman at the start of the new school year in 2017. As each new student pulled into the parking lot, the older students would cheer and welcome them, unload their things into a cart, and roll them to their new home for the next year. My favorite car I unpacked that day was that of a 6' ft tall, long-haired, lacrosse player. As I pulled his lacrosse sticks out of the back of his car, we locked eyes. Mitchell describes it as love at first sight. I would certainly agree. We officially met later that day, began spending time together later that week, and have been inseparable ever since. My adventure buddy forever. September 3, 2022 marks our 5th dating anniversary.
