Asheville has more breweries per capita than any other city in the U.S.! A few of our local favorites include Highland Brewing Company, The Whale, and One World - West.
Located just north of the "land of waterfalls", there are some spectacular hikes in the Asheville area. A few of our favorites to explore are the waterfalls in Dupont Forest, Black Balsam Knob, and Craggy Pinnacle.
The River Arts District (R.A.D) is a collection of old warehouses along the French Broad River that have been converted into studios for over 200 local artists! Since 1975, these studios have been open to the public. From glassblowing to pottery to fine art to jewelry, you can find just about any type of art at the R.A.D. Many artists are usual at work on the weekends and love to answer questions about their work. Our favorite studios to visit are the Jonas Gerard Gallery and Odyssey Clay Works.
Even if hiking is not your thing, you can still explore the area by driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway. With tons of overlooks, this is a great way to see the fall colors! One of our favorite dates is to watch the sunrise from the Mills River Valley Overlook.
In Asheville, we love coffee almost as much as we love beer. Battle Cat, Ultra, Double D's (the iconic converted bus), and Izzy's Coffee House are just a few of our favorite local places.
