From Karen's Perspective: The first time that I saw Jordan, my roommate and I were headed back to our dorm after picking up groceries when I saw Jordan walking on campus. Since I thought he was really cute, I asked my roommate if she knew him but she didn’t so she jokingly said she was going to turn the car around to get his name for me which caused me to panic at the time but now it’s a funny memory for me to recall. After some time had passed, I was almost late for one of my classes and that’s when I saw Jordan again holding the door for some other students. I decided to start getting there just before class started so that I could talk with Jordan briefly before heading to our separate classes. Not long after, my roommate helped me create a Facebook account to send a friend request to Jordan, he messaged right away and after some talking, he asked to hang out. Shortly afterwards, we started dating and... the rest is history. From Jordan's Perspective: The first time I laid eyes on Karen was during the Ms. Martin pageant where she was participating as a contestant. My eyes were instantly drawn to her and I knew I'd like to talk to her if I saw her again. It wasn't long after that where I got my chance, while holding the door for others on their way to class at 9 in the morning, Karen also happened to have a class at that same time and I got to say hello for the first time. I spoke with her a few times on her way to class but it wasn't until soon after when she added me on Facebook that we finally started to hang out and soon after I asked her to be my girlfriend.

Well, over the course of 11 years together, we had already decided that we would eventually get married but the time just didn't seem right and we were really happy just being together. Recently we both felt that we have reached a point in our relationship and in our lives where the time feels right to take this next step. We look forward to having our friends and family join us in celebrating our relationship as we take this next step. With family from both sides present, we announced our engagement after Jordan's graduation ceremony on December 11, 2021. We are very excited to be getting married and to have you all there with us.
