Things to Do & Places to Eat

Here are a few of our favorite places to eat and things to do!

Breakfast & Brunch

1. The Kneadery - Situated right in town, enjoy a homestyle breakfast here. 2. Bigwood Bread - A walk or quick drive out a Ketchum, enjoy a healthy brunch and delicious baked goods at this popular spot. 3. Konditorei Restaurant - Located in the Sun Valley village. A nice spot for those staying at the lodge or those that want to visit.

Dinner

1. Rickshaw ($$) - Our absolute favorite. Southeast asian fusion restaurant with hits like Korean Fried Chicken, Chili Udon Noodles, and veg options. They don't take reservations so come early to put your name on the list. It is worth the wait. 2. Grumpy's ($): A favorite of Team Huber. Famous burger joint with both indoor and outdoor seating. A Sun Valley classic - get the schooner. 3. The Grill at Knob Hill ($$$) - Northwest cuisine at arguably the best outdoor patio/garden in all of SV. Reservations recommendation. 4. Enoteca ($$) - Wood-fired pizza and Italian dishes with perfect location at the center of town. Reservations are notoriously difficult to get with limited notice. If dying to try, we recommend booking well in advance. 5. Cookbook ($$) - An intimate restaurant on the skirts of downtown with delicious pizza and pasta. They offer outdoor seating. Reservations recommended well in advance. 6. Ketchum Burritos & Wiseguys Pizza - Quick, easy options in town.

Biking

You can rent bikes in town from Sturtevants or Elephant's Perch or from Pete Lane's by the Sun Valley Lodge. Here are a list of our favorite rides: 1. Wood River Trail - A beloved 20+ mile (relatively flat) paved path that connects Sun Valley and Hailey. Go as short or as long as you'd like and enjoy the scenery. 2. Mountain bike on Bald Mountain: Chair-lift accessed mountain biking on the ski hill. Lift passes required. Don't worry - there is an orthopedic clinic in town. 3. Trail Creek Summit: For the bravest gravel bikers, head up the formidable Trail Creek into the Pioneer Mountains. Downhill is scarier than the uphill. Check out Rebecca's Private Idaho website for GPS tracks. 4. Warm Springs: A gradual uphill out and back gravel ride going west on Warm Springs road and parallels the creek. Dip into the hot springs at ~8 miles in past the ski lodge 5. Adams Gulch: A nice series of MTB travels from moderate to difficult.

Fly Fishing

There are four world-class fly fishing streams within the area: 1) The Big Wood that runs right through town, 2) The Big Lost up and over Trail Creek but well worth the trip, 3) the Salmon ~1.25 hrs past the Sawtooths, and 4) The Silver Creek is the major leagues of all trout streams. The fish are incredibly smart and don't appear to be hungry. For those looking to test their angler skills or try it out for the first time, we recommend going with guiding services and fly shops in town. Our favorites are Silver Creek Outfitters, Lost River Outfitters, and Sun Valley Outfitters. Book in advance as they fill up quickly.

Golf

Sun Valley Lodge has three distinct courses: two 18-hole and one 9-hole with a practice facility and 18-hole putting course. Call (208) 622-2251 to book a tee time.

Adventures outside town

One of our favorite places to go is Galena Lodge. It's ~40 min drive north of town to a community-owned lodge with fabulous hiking and bike trails and delicious food. Head up in the morning for a hike or rent a bike up there and swing by for lunch.
