Established in 1763, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Baltimore, Fell's Point was once a bustling shipbuilding port. Its visage has remained largely unchanged since its founding—picture Belgian block streets, waterfront restaurants and cozy boutiques just a few blocks east of the Inner Harbor. Spend a day during your next visit to Baltimore exploring historic Fell's Point. There are so many things to see, eat, do and enjoy in this walkable neighborhood.
Our former stomping grounds and place of residence (where the true love story began), Harbor East is a trendy extension of its neighbor, the iconic Inner Harbor. As a relatively new development area, this upscale neighborhood continues to grow and evolve as a destination for luxury with great options for fine dining (Azumi, Tagliata, Bygone, Cinghiale, The Charleston, Loch Bar, etc.), nice boutique shopping and plush accommodations all within a few blocks.
Enjoy a panoramic view of Baltimore’s downtown and Inner Harbor from historic Federal Hill. Federal Hill was a defensive stronghold during the War of 1812 and replica cannons sit atop the neighborhood’s namesake hill in honor of its role as a military outpost. Now, Federal Hill is characterized by historic brick row homes and numerous locally-owned shops and restaurants. It’s home to both newcomers and families that have lived here for generations. Its charm combines 19th century history with beautiful architecture and ample entertainment.
Another favorite spot of ours. We had one of our first dates here. A recent 2024 James Beard Foundation semifinalist for Outstanding Bar, it is Taqueria & Mezcaleria in Remington serving amazing food deeply rooted in Sinaloan ritual (Mexican). (Reservations are not taken)
