Our story is not super magical, but it is our story. We met like many busy professionals do in this digital day and age... the internet. He liked a photo, I made a remark on his profile and the rest was history. Our first date was at the bowling alley where we had fish and chips and bowled a game or two. I was so nervous and I think he was too. I walkes him to his car and yes, you heard that right! I didn't want him to know what kind of car I drove in case he was a creepy stalker. I gave him an awkward handshake and we left. He texted me on my way home and I thought that was so sweet. We had a few more dates in town and then ventured over to Pismo Beach for a weekend getaway. I knew early on he was a good guy and he just as weird as I am. So it works!
We talked about getting engaged in a casual fashion where I thought it would happen at least a year or two in the future. He started dropping hints that we should look for rings so I can figure out what I liked (because he knows how picky I am). One night at Buffalo Wild Wings we were talking about our upcoming trip to Germany and talking about our savings for the trip. He let it slip that he had been planning to propose to me as a big surprise in Germany and was feeling stressed about getting a ring as we still had not picked out anything that I liked. So we went to Ventura for a weekend trip to celebrate our two year anniversary and decided to go ring shopping. Luckily we found the ring on our anniversary! We picked it up about three weeks later and he surprised me with a proposal on the pier. He even had someone video it as she was pretending to take our photo. He knew I couldn't wait until Germany two months later because I kept sneaking the ring to try it on and take pictures of it. It was so sweet!
