Mandy and Courtney met at GCU in the education program and became fast friends. Mandy and Courtney roomed together their senior year of college and continued to live together after as they both became teachers in the same Arizona school district.

Dylan and Jonathan also met freshman year at GCU as roommates. During their time in college they played intramurals, explored Arizona, and deepened their relationships with God in a small group together.

Stephan is one of Courtney's older brothers. Stephan and his family moved to Utah when Courtney was in middle school and was able to spend time teaching her basketball moves, creating videos with her for her role in student government, and letting her love on his three kids Jonas, Annie, and Owen.
