We're Getting Married!

Our story of how we met is quite unique. It sounds like the storyline for a Hallmark movie. We met through an app and not like the typical dating apps like Tinder, Hinge, or Bumble. We met through AirBnB. Jon was looking for an adventure outside of Iowa and took a job opportunity to work down in La Bell, FL. I was completing my last OT fieldwork rotation in Fort Meyers, FL. We ended up renting separate rooms in a shared AirBnB. As neither one of us knew anyone in the town we were living in, naturally we spent every weekend hanging out going to the beach, biking, kayaking, or out to eat. A few months after I moved back home with my family in Northern Virginia, Jon came for his first visit to see me. Over the next year we spent time visiting each other in our home states and we became an official couple in August of 2022. In January of 2023, we decided we were ready to move in together in Jon’s home state of Iowa. In the last year, Jon and I have grown to love each other more everyday.

Jon popped the BIG question surrounded by close friends at a lovely hot spring on our New Years trip in Idaho. We were surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains and snow dusted trees. It was absolutely freezing and my pants were too frozen to put back on--hence why I'm pant-less in the proposal pictures! It was the best way to start the New Year!
