After 4 years of adventures together, Tyler had been carrying around the ring for a month looking for the right place to ask Kassandra to marry him. They had taken several hikes over glaciers and mountain tops, backpacking with friends and family, but the timing never felt quite right. He decided that he couldn't wait any longer and proposed while they were huckleberry picking in Hayden Creek. However, Kassandra still didn’t make it easy on him. She had just found a nice big patch of huckleberries when Tyler yelled, “Kassandra, come over here, I just found a huge patch of berries!” She yelled back, “No, I just found a big patch of berries over here!” He said, “I’m serious, they’re everywhere!” She said, “Well are they big? These ones are huge and tasty!” “Ya!”, he said. Five minutes later, he yelled, “Are you coming?” She responded, “I’m just picking the rest of these and then I’ll come.” He decided he needed to up the ante, “There’s a really cool rock over here you have to see!” She took the bait, he knew rocks are her favorite, “Alright, I’m coming.” Ten more minutes pass as Kassandra is tripping over fallen logs, pushing her way through thick buck brush, cursing profanities that these berries better be worth it, and maybe picking a few more berries here and there along the way. She finally came to a big tree about five feet in diameter, large enough for Tyler to hide behind. On the other side, she saw him down on one knee and her first reaction wasn’t the most lady-like (To be fair, when is Kassandra ever lady-like?). “What the ****!?” She said in a very confused tone. Tyler's voice was adorably shaky as he asked, “Will you Marry me, make me the happiest man on earth?” As Kassandra realized he was truly proposing, she said, "Yes!" and stumbled to his side to give him all of the adorably cheesy hugs and kisses accompanied by happy tears from them both.
