Prestley Smith

Maid of Honor

There are not enough words to describe what my sister means to me. If I had to sum it up into one word I would say PERFECT. Prestley was my personal baby growing up. Helping her plan her Barbie funeral, all 10 fingers in attendance, and staying up late watching Finding Nemo and Hoodwinked. The older she gets, the closer we become. I am so proud of the young woman she is becoming and am so blessed to call her my sister.

Matthew Heyer

Best Man

When a guy like me who keeps his friends close and plentiful is asked to choose a best man, it should be difficult to decide who's the best fit - but that's not the case when Matt is an option. Since high school, Matt has been a listening ear and source of advice in my lowest moments, an open door whenever an escape was needed, and his friendship led to me being welcomed as an honorary part of his family. Needless to say, I owe a lot of clout to Matt too, as he coined both "Dillionaire" and "Dr. Witchcard".

Katie Ramsey

Matron of Honor

We met working at Gamestop in 2012. Katie has been my closest friend ever since. Through Pokemon dates, Chinese dress shopping, and Majestic Burgers, Katie has always been my #1. Katie is my longest friend. We will always be there for each other no matter the distance. Even when she goes to Colorado for literally no reason.

George Brand

Groomsman

George taught me, in many ways, what being a good friend is all about. From campouts in his backyard, to band practices, to taking every single class together in college, there were many years where the phrase "attached at the hip" came to mind where we were concerned, and I wouldn't trade those years for anything. He may trade those years for his hair back. Remains to be seen.

Amber Lewis

Bridesmaid

I met Amber through her ridiculous fiance Jared. Amber and I could be locked in our homes with no way out, and be just fine because we have years worth of books. Amber has helped me through some of the harder times in my life by simply just being there.

Jared Robertson

Groomsman

It's hard to pin down whether Jared is more of a friend or a mentor. Whenever we'd hang out, whether it was studying or "studying" (playing video games), Jared would always leave me with some piece of wisdom that stuck and made me a better man, and ultimately, made me a physician. It's no understatement to say that without his lessons in perseverance, dedication, and resolve under pressure, I would not be where I am today. The privilege to count Jared as a brother and role model is the most valuable thing I gained during my time in medical school.

Stephanie Trosclair

Bridesmaid

WHERE DO I BEGIN. Stephanie was my light at the end of the tunnel in 2018 when I was at my lowest. Harry Potter mugs, socks, Pedialyte, chicken alfredo, the gifts and hours spent with me were endless. I can never repay her. Stephanie has become a pillar in my life that keeps me stable. I couldn't be who I am today without her. Her friendship has shaped me into a better me. Stephanie fills a part of my soul I didn't know was empty.

Matthew Trosclair

Groomsman

There are few things in the world more bone-achingly frustrating than Matthew Trosclair trying to play a video game. Countless choice words were shouted into my headset at 2am thanks to Matt, much to the dismay of my roommates. That being said, no one has been more supportive of and enthusiastic about Kayla and I's union from the very beginning, and memories hanging out with our "dad" are some of the fondest of our early times together.

Taylor Ezell

Bridesmaid

Oh Taylor. When I was new to the area you and Zach were my first friends. I know he would be there on the other side of the aisle if things had been different, but I am just glowing with happiness for you as Kenny sits out there with the rest of our family and friends. We have each taken turns being a light for one another and I know that will never end. I'm a sucker for you.

Daniel Holmes

Groomsman

Daniel and I's friendship is testament to the stereotype that male friends can be at each other's throats one minute and sharing a laugh the next. I can't begin to count the times Daniel and I have butted our exceedingly hard heads over incredibly insignificant things. At the end of the day, I couldn't be more proud of the man and soon-to-be physician Daniel has grown into, and am filled with joy to call him not only a friend, but a colleague in medicine.

Madison Carpenter

Bridesmaid

I obviously met Madison through Dillon since she is his sister. Madison accepted me with open arms. We have been gossip pals from day one. Trust me, if I need someone messed up, I can call Madison.

Jacob Young

Groomsman

Jake taught me everything I know about culture, be it in film, fashion, or drinks. Granted, there was no shortage of things I needed to learn when I crawled into professional society straight out of the swamp. Far and away the best roommate I have ever had, my nights watching the old classics and sharing artisanal beers and Chinese takeout are among my fondest memories in medical school. Also, I'll always give him the credit that he was flossing before it was a meme (although I'm not sure if that's a good thing).

Preston Smith

Father of the Bride

My dad, I don't know where to begin. The amount of people threatened over me? Countless. My dad would drive to Florida in a hurricane if I asked him to. (He did offer) If I had to whittle it down to the best memory. It is a compilation of every road trip on his work weekends. Every Wendy's frosty, Gatorade, BBQ joint, and Blake Shelton concert along the way.

Tara Smith

Mother of the Bride

Tara has been a light in my life since I was 3 years old. I would not be the person I am to day without her guiding light. She is a light to everyone she meets. You need dinner? She got it. You need a place to sleep? On it. She will do anything she can for anyone she meets. Just ask all our high school friends. Though I think my favorite has to be my ability to read her mind when no one else knows what the heck she is talking about. I am her best interpreter.

Lesley Palisi

Mother of the Groom

What better role model than my amazing, beautiful mother? Raising me when she did was no easy feat - from having a toddler in nursing school to being a single mother working night shifts, she pulled through without ever skipping a beat as a nurse or as a mother. Today, I'm proud to have found my place beside her in the world of pediatrics... Maybe she rubbed off on me a little more than she'd thought!

Nick Palisi

Second Father of the Groom

A man of very few words, but a lot of conviction. Nick is a role model in hard work and living a quiet life far removed from other people's business (and problems), and if that isn't how everyone ought to be, I don't know what is.

Monique Joiner

Second Mother of the Groom

Mo and Madison coming into mine and Dad's lives has been a bigger blessing than we could have ever asked for. Mo fell into the mama bear role for a teenage boy she had no obligation to without hesitation, and has never faltered since. As my Dad always says, some people are born Joiners, others are chosen for that honor. It goes without saying that we choose pretty well!

Stormy Joiner

Father of the Groom

Growing up, my dad always felt more like my best friend or a big brother - not surprising when we were both always getting fussed at and told to grow up by Uncle Shannon. There were certainly times where Dad taught me by example of what NOT to do... But today, as I watch him grow to fill the hole left in our little community by my uncle, walking in the shoes worn by the greatest person to ever live, my Dad is nothing short of everything I aspire to be.

Nathan Palisi

Usher

October 26, 2005 is immortalized in history as one of the greatest days of my life - the day I became a big brother. To this day, nothing makes me feel like I'm home quite like the laughs and smiles from Nate and Noah, and I couldn't be happier to have had the privilege to watch them grow into fine young men - even if Nate can't even jump over a bush.

Noah Palisi

Usher

His butt itches.

Tagen Smith

Ring Bearer

Tagen has the blessing of being my first nephew. Living with him for those first few months of his life are unforgettable. He just hung upside down in my lap to watch TV. Now he is such a smart and funny young man. His obsession with Pokemon rivals mine and Dillon's and that is saying something. Tagen made my brother Robert, a dad, and that is what he is best at.

Myles Smith

Ring Bearer

Myles Alexander is a whirlwind. I cannot believe it is possible to love a little boy this much. Looks exactly like his dad did at that age. It is uncanny. Myles has a heart of gold but the attention span of a fly. Therefore Tagen will be holding the rings as Myles smiles like the perfect, pretty boy he is.

Rev. Joseph Wilbourn

Officiant

I have never met a more chaotic energy than the energy exuded by Joe. Joe commands every room he is in with his larger-than-life personality. While he frequently likes to joke that he is full of hate and vitriol, it's clear to everyone close to him that he's full of love, and he leaves everyone he meets feeling like they've made a new best friend. What better person to command the room at a day dedicated to love?
