In light of the unexpected global pandemic and our government's response to it, we have decided to postpone the celebration of our marriage to July 26, 2020. We are no longer accepting RSVP's at this time.
If you ask either of them, they will be sure to tell you that Bethany doesn't remember meeting Richie! According to him, it was in the MVNU game room at the beginning of the school year in 2017. As the year rolled on and the fall semester ended, they kept talking; that talking eventually ended up with Richie asking if the two families could grab dinner together as the Johns drove through Weirton. To this day, Bethany's family refers to this as their "first date!"
In true Richie fashion, Richie went above and beyond to make that moment as memorable and special as possible. For months, Richie created a grand plan to distract Bethany while he set up video and pictures on the beach of the Mediterranean Sea. On February 24, 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, Richie walked (more like ran!) Bethany down to the shore with Bethany yelling "Why are you running? I thought we were just going to take some pictures!" It wasn't until they got to the beach that Bethany saw their sisters scattered about holding cameras that she knew something was up. Suddenly, Richie pulled out an iPad with a video titled "My Future Wife." When the video ended Richie was down on one knee with a beautiful ring and (finally) asked Bethany to marry him! Check out either of their facebook profiles to watch the video for yourself!
For the next two months, we will be soaking up every ounce of family time that we can get before moving. This August, we will be relocating to Los Angeles, California so that Richie can pursue his dream in the film industry and finish his schooling. We are so excited to see what God is going to do in and through us as a married couple!
