You could say our first date was not as ideal or magical as most couples first date. We planned to go to the movies but agreed to go to a restaurant an hour and a half before the movie started to "break the ice". I arrive on time to the restaurant venue not knowing that my date *cough*Natalie*cough* would be an hour behind schedule. Upon her arrival, I go to greet her as shes exiting her car not knowing I was leading her to a pothole (to my defense, it was dark). In slow motion, she falls as I attempt to catch her. We both ultimately went down and laughed hysterically. As we no longer had time to eat, we decided to get Boba Tea and chat for a short moment. Upon leaving the restaurant to depart for the movie, I accidentally dented my car reversing into a small pole. As upset that I was, at least we both enjoyed the movie! At times, we as humans forget that we are humans, expecting everything to go perfectly when God didn't make us that way. It is the imperfect moments between two imperfect people that can make the perfect memory. Needless to say, we had all the signs for our first date to be our very last. We couldn't be happier that we didn't listen to them.
Easter Sunday. It is a day that is nationally recognized but will forever be a day we will never forget. I remember waking up early with excitement and a burst of energy. She was utterly confused by my enlightenment being that it was so early in the morning. Our day was compiled of a full itinerary: pick up the little sister, head to church, travel back for family pictures, enjoy dinner with the family. Throughout the day, people fairly close to us was giving him the (are you ready) look. She had no idea the entire day. While taking family pictures, it was time for her to take a picture with her father. Once the picture was taken, she was instructed to turn around finding me on one knee surrounded around her family and loved ones. She was in complete shock and disarray. "I've thoroughly enjoyed our time we've had together and decided, I never want it to end. Will you Marry me?". Without a moment's hesitation she answered "YES," and we were engaged! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Pelham!
