Question

Wedding Location 🇲🇽

Answer

Milton and his family welcome us to the historic city of Puebla. The wedding celebration will be held inside the modern restaurant SANTÓUA GASTROBAR, at Calle 2 sur, histórica de Puebla. We reserved the restaurant for the day 530- 1130pm. Dinner, cake, dancing, all the good stuff ;)

Question

No gifts needed!!

Answer

We are blessed and don’t need any gifts. We are happy just to share the day with our loved ones! The registry is so we can keep using this free site (and some family requested info 😘)

Question

Getting to Puebla ✈️

Answer

We advise flying to Mexico City (MEX) and then it is about a 90 min Uber to Puebla (our Ubers were around $80-90usd in the past). Mexico City is a large airport with English signage and many bilingual staff. While the city of Puebla does have an airport, code PBC, it is smaller. That airport may work for you though depending on the city and date! PS- John’s family will land in Mexico City on the morning/early afternoon of Sat. March 23. The goal is to take a luxury bus to Puebla (super economical and modern and clean) and check in to the hotel. There are Ubers and taxis of course too (Uber is more affordable than in the US). If you are also arriving Sat morning, let us know and you can join the van group. I will update this info as we get more specific info about flight arrival times etc. Update: Milton and John are flying American Airlines on Sat 3/23/24. We leave PHL at 5am on AA1670 and land in Dallas 8am. We then take AA389 at 840am and land in Mexico City at 1035am. We are planning to eat lunch at the airport and see who else arrives that morning/early afternoon. On the way home: on Sun 3/31/23 we are flying from Mexico City at 1:20pm taking AA394. We have layover in Dallas and at 630pm will fly AA1664 to PHL (arriving home at 1030pm).

Question

Electrical outlets 🔌

Answer

Mexico uses the same outlets as the USA. No converter needed.

Question

Texting in Mexico- WhatsApp is great

Answer

Depending on your phone company, you may wish to text normally. For example, I believe TMobile gets free international texting. Some phone providers may charge more for international texts or calls though. We recommend downloading WHATSAPP, a free texting app that many countries use. You can also make free calls and FaceTime loved ones using wifi. 📱📲 John’s phone number is 703-477-8928. In WhatsApp you may need to enter it as +1- 703-477-8928 because the 1 is for USA. Milton’s number is 215-896-7924. Shout out if you need anything at all or have questions!

Question

Places to visit in Puebla

Answer

Puebla has many different things to see. Their mix of architecture is really cool since they are both historic and modern. I have not yet made it to the zoo myself but have heard good things. Here is a brief video listing some nearby sites: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=x15zDErEQD8 Here is a vogue article too: https://www.vogue.com/article/best-places-to-visit-in-mexico 🚕 Also, here is a more in depth video of a nearby town, Cholula: https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=UBx1eEZofWbNOWZ6&v=l4ZLWgthf3o&feature=youtu.be

Question

Getting around- ride aps

Answer

Uber works in Mexico. It is extremely affordable, we recommend it over taxis. Lyft doesn’t exist in Mexico yet

Question

Blocked Hotel info- BANYAN TREE

Answer

We’re staying at BANYAN TREE HOTEL & have a blocked room deal running with them for some rooms. PLEASE CONTACT US FIRST if you want a room- we can help ensure you get one of the blocked rooms and pay less! We have prepaid for a few rooms. Their events coordinador assured us these are the best rates and rooms during this time. Please contact Milton/John if interested in joining on the deal: 1. An urban king bliss/balcony room (185/night before taxes) or An urban double room (185/night before taxes or 185 x 1.29 = 238.65/ night after taxes) 2. Our deal also includes 2 American breakfasts for each room, each morning 🍊🍳🥞 Banyan Tree is kid friendly, has a rooftop pool, garden, spa services, several restaurants inside, & other amenities. Their bilingual staff can also assist with ordering food or taxis etc. ⛲️Website: https://www.banyantree.com/mexico/puebla ***More specific info below in part 2

Question

Banyan Tree Hotel part 2

Answer

BANYAN TREE More details- to secure the King or Double Bed blocked rooms, contact John/Milton first please. We have paid for 15 rooms up front. The guest would simply pay us back. While we would love to have you join us at Banyan Tree, don’t feel you have to stay there if you prefer another place My family is personally planning to: -flyto Mexico City on Sat 3/23/24 & check in to Banyan Tree in Puebla -free day in Puebla Sunday 3/24/24 (explore town, but also a buffer day in case of delay/missed flight) -event day! Mon 3/25/24 -free day Tues 3/26/24- pack up luggage that evening -check out Wed 3/27/24 & get back to Mexico City airport for connections etc. My sisters may fly the 2 hours to Cancun or Cabo for example (flights are fast & reasonable) The hotels listed on the other tab are also well reviewed & in same area. We don’t have any agreement with them though. And there are other smaller hotels nearby as well. Keep in mind, regardless of where you stay, the hotels all have a 29% tax on top of the listed price.. So the “per night” prices on sites may seem lower but then the 29% kicks in (covers a 16% IVA, a 3% tax & some other 10% service tax). This is a very cute part of Puebla- very walkable. We honestly felt Banyan Tree was the cutest & best experience. While this 5 star hotel is a few minutes walk from the event space, we will probably arrange a shuttle at the end of the night going back to Banyan Tree just to make it nice & easy for everyone. Note: for those 4 nights above the final official total would be $954 (185/night + the 29%= 238.65 each night. x4 nights= 954.60 total) If you are interested in staying for less/more nights, just let us know & we can speak to hotel (or you can call yourself of course bc they are bilingual). If you book through the hotel directly and pay, you may not get our group deal so text us first or be sure you mention our names when you speak to the hotel. Wedding coordinator has more power than the concierge

Question

Dinner

Answer

Dinner will be served! The gray paper in the invitation lists the menu and food options. We do not need that physically returned to us. We just need a text or email saying who from your household is able to attend and their food choices, please. (So we can let the caterers know). If children, we just need their name, their age, and their food preference please. Basically something like: -John Kinch is coming he wants 1a 2b and 3a. -Milton Duarte is coming and he wants 2a 2b and 3c. -Sue Smith, age 3, pasta.
