Back in the fall of 1997, in the halls of Fenwick High School, John (14) met Kim (15). She was a sophmore and he a freshman. They dated briefly that year and spent hours on the phone at night listening to music and talking about everything. During that time they made a pact, as kids do, that by 40 years old if they weren't married they'd marry each other. Shortly after, John and Kim broke up but maintained their close friendship. In fact, over the next decade they were nearly inseparable. They spent winter breaks working at a toy store, worked as valets, went to both DePaul and Columbia College together, hosted a"John and Kim morning show", and lived in the same building post college for several years. Life changes, and as such there was a period of time they weren't as close. John moved to the city and got busy working and building his music career, and Kim moved to the burbs to raise her daughter and build her tech career. It wasn't until post-pandemic that they reconnected and instantly the fire relit. They started dating shortly after reconnecting in 2022, and on John's 40th birthday, as promised back in 1997, he proposed to Kim! They couldn't be more thrilled for their little modern family and house in the burbs and are so happy to get to celebrate this wedding, such a special occasion and something a long time coming, with all of you.
