Some of our favorite memories in Steamboat are all the incredible hikes. Steamboat Springs offers a variety of trails for all levels of experience and interests. From easy strolls that are minutes from the resort along the Yampa River to challenging climbs up the Flat Top Mountains, there's something for everyone. We highly recommend downloading AllTrails hiking app (free) to explore the best trail for you. Steamboat Lake State Park
Nestled in the heart of Colorado, Steamboat Lake State Park is a true gem, catering to a diverse range of interests. You get an awesome view of Hahns Peak as a picturesque backdrop to this park. Plenty of activities here from boating, hiking trails, fishing, campaing and more. There's a full-service marina and a sandy beach. We've rented boats here before and enjoyed cruising around for the day and the views are worth it! Directions from Steamboat Springs: Go west on US Hwy 40 to County Road 129. Travel 28 miles north of Steamboat Springs, turn left into visitor center. There is a $7/Vehicle Day Use Fee.
Rollingstone Ranch Golf Course
A spectacular 18-hole championship-caliber course nestled against the Flat Top Mountains. Known for its iconic Steamboat view and challenging gameplay, the course gives panoramic views of the Yampa Valley and Fish Creek winding through seven of the holes.
Haymaker Golf Course
Haymaker Golf Course is a Championship Golf Course Gem. Mount Werner frames many of the holes, while the spectacular Flat Top Mountain Range serves as a stunning backdrop. Haymaker is a challenging links-style course with grasses and wetlands to enhance the fairways.
Yampa River Core Trail
The 7.5-mile Yampa River Core Trail, which connects downtown Steamboat Springs to Bear River Park, is a paved multiuse trail for hikers and bikers. We've (tandem) biked here and it's a great way to see the charming town of Steamboat. For those looking to sip their way through town, walk or bike the Steamboat Brew Trail. Horseback riding on Saddleback Ranch is a perfect opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Colorado scenery and take some gorgeous pictures, while learning all about the western ranch history that Steamboat embraces to this day.
Del's Triangle 3 Ranch - UTV Buggy Tour
Join Del's Triangle 3 Ranch for a family friendly guided tour in a fully enclosed UTV through the beautiful wilderness of the Routt National Forest. Each buggy accommodates up to 4 people, with 1 person in each group serving as the driver (18 years old and up are permitted to drive, must have a valid drivers license). Del's Triangle 3 Ranch is a 45 minute drive from Steamboat Springs.
