"Dressy casual" We want you to dress comfortably. The ceremony will be outdoors, and we don't plan to be at the location for very long. However, there is a fair chance for the weather to be around 55-60 degrees, and this is Northern Virgirnia, so the weather is unpredictable. A shawl or a blazer should be good enough to keep you warm, but if the temperature suddenly decides not to break 50 degrees, have a warmer coat on hand.
We have scheduled in a rest break between the brunch at The Chart House and the boat ride to see the cherry blossoms and visit Georgetown. That way, if you want to change to more comfortable clothes, calm your stomach before the boat ride, or just take a nap and get some energy back, you can.
The boat ride departs from Old Town Alexandria, right near where our brunch spot is. It will be a 45-60 min Potomoac River tour with sights of the Jefferson Memorial, Washington Monument, and the cherry blossoms along the tidal basin, of course. The boat will stop in Georgetown, D.C. for a brief rest break before returning to Alexandria for another trip through the sights. We understand that going on what is essentially two boat tours might not be everyone's ideal scenario. So you are more than welcome to stay in Georgetown and explore that area at your leisure. However, the return boat is the last one of the day, and there is no metro nearby in Georgetown, so a ride-share (Uber/Lyft) is your best option to return to your hotel or car.
