Things To Do

Downtown Charleston is an extremely walkable city with lots of beautiful sights to see! We've put some of our favorite places to visit on here as suggestions. If you simply want to walk around and get a feel for the city, we would recommend starting at the Charleston Battery and wandering up to the Charleston Market (both described below), or walking up King Street from the Battery.

Charleston City Market

188 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29401

This is a large open air market that has lots of delicious food, trinkets and useful items to bring home with you. It's also conveniently next to the Welcome Event on Friday! Make sure you check the hours online before heading there as they can be seasonal.

Lewis Barbecue Charleston

464 North Nassau Street, Charleston, SC 29403

If there is a better Brisket in the United States, you'll have to tell me where to find it!

The Battery

Charleston, SC 29401

The Charleston Battery is a beautiful Waterfront walk at the end of the downtown peninsula. It borders some of the prettiest old Charleston mansions and overlooks Charleston harbor

Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge

Charleston, SC 29403

The Ravenel bridge links Mount pleasant to downtown Charleston. There is a nice walking/running path along the side of it that provides some great views of the harbor and downtown! We would recommend parking on the Mount pleasant side of the bridge to start the walk.

Marion Square

329 Meeting Street, Charleston, SC 29403

Marion square is in the heart of downtown and has a market on Saturdays. King street restaurant's and shopping are all nearby!

Shem Creek

SC 29464

Great strip of waterfront bars and restaurants within a mile of the wedding venue!

Sullivan's Island Beach

Charleston, SC 29492

Beautiful beach that is under a 30 minute drive from downtown!
