Gillian & John met as many young people these days do, on the internet. Gillian liked John's smile in his picture and when they matched, she asked him the classic first line, "What is your Hogwart's house?" After a few days of chatting, they decided to meet in person. Gillian made sure to tell at least three people the time and location of their date, because John was a stranger that she met on the internet after all. John picked the bar-- Tenants of the Trees, and the drank Penicillins while getting to know each other. Gillian decided that John probably wasn't an axe-murderer and since he was parked on the same street as her, she let him walk her to her car. She got in the car and let her three people know that she had not in fact been murdered by a man on the internet, but she had a nice time. She told her mom that "he's chatty". To which her mom responded with, " *you* think he's chatty?!" That should have been the sign right there that Gillian and John were meant to be. Thankfully the next morning Gillian woke up to a text message from John saying that he had a nice time and would like to hang out again. It feels like we blinked, and now we are here inviting you to our wedding.
John and Gillian took their first trip together in the summer of 2018. They went to Joshua Tree and rented a very cute cowboy themed cabin. They hiked in the morning and planned to stay in the AC during the afternoon. Gillian had noticed a very pretty *thousand piece* puzzle at John's apartment and thought it would be nice to bring a puzzle to do during their stay. Gillian ordered a 500pc Harry Potter themed puzzle and brought it along. On that trip John & Gillian admitted their love for each other and John also admitted that he had never actually done the thousand piece puzzle. The Harry Potter puzzle took them (&John's roommates) the rest of the month to complete. The next summer, John and Gillian planned a trip for Gillian's birthday and went to Palm Springs. At the hotel room, John pulled out a birthday present for Gillian and asked her to open it. Inside was a 60 piece puzzle (very much our speed). Together they put together a puzzle of custom artwork made by their friend Beth (@bethberad), of themselves and their cats, Gus & Margot. Gillian was so dumbstruck at how perfectly Beth had captured Gus's large eyes and Margot's single remaining tooth that she didn't realize what John was doing in the picture-- until she realized that pieces were missing. John then pulled out the remaining pieces which had the ring that they had designed with their friend Jesse (@lonelymountainsanctuary) and asked Gillian to marry him.
