After years of dating and not finding the one, both Johanna and Jason were feeling discouraged and decided to shake up their dating worlds. Jason was back and forth to New York City as his beloved grandma, Doris, had just passed away. He decided to change his dating location to New York City. Johanna had decided she too wanted to change cities and made the decision to leave it all behind and move to Denver. Before this move, Johanna kept searching on Hinge. Jason popped up and she was drawn to his seemingly genuine nature and smile. His profile said NYC but his job and comments aligned to DC. Johanna figured she was planning on leaving anyway, so why not take a gamble. Jason accepted Johanna’s “like”. He had written about going to brunch in his profile so Johanna wrote to him saying that if they are going to DC for brunch, she was going to get pretty hangry. A great conversation continued and they set a date to meet. Life got in the way and the first date did not come to fruition. Johanna reached out again and Jason was dating someone. She was disappointed but wished him well. She figured this confirmed her move to Denver. Less than two weeks later Jason reached out and asked Johanna, “Are you married yet?” From there, Jason googled where Johanna lived and found a local wine bar, Serena’s, for their first date. They immediately hit it off and enjoyed stories about each other’s lives and what dating had been like in both cities. The night ended and Johanna tried to play it cool on whether she would hear from him again. The next day, Johanna happened to go to bed early which never happens. While she was sleeping, Jason messaged her to meet for a walk the next day before he went back to DC. He didn’t hear back and figured she was out on the town. Seven AM the next morning Johanna responded that she would love to! Fast forward a lovely walk where Jason got to meet the infamous Lucy, aka the package deal. Jason asked to come back to NYC the next weekend. He planned a detailed night out with a reservation for appetizers, dinner at Peasant, and a rooftop nightcap at the Arlo hotel. They had a magical night that they both didn’t want to end. The next weekend Johanna went to DC and from then on they have been inseparable. Needless to say Johanna did not move to Denver and instead will be making her way in a different direction to DC. Lucy approved.
