Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Johanna Blum and James Clevenger
The Keweenaw Peninsula holds a special place in our lives and we're excited to share it with you! We've listed a few of our favorite spots below and you can find more information at https://www.visitkeweenaw.com/ Late September the fall colors should be in full swing offering scenic views across the Keweenaw. We recommend getting outside to enjoy the views! There are numerous parks, hiking trails, beaches - even driving to the locations is worth the view.

Nicole Bloom Memorial Trailhead

Nicole Bloom Memorial Trail, Mohawk, MI 49950

Also known as Mt. Baldy / Mt. Lookout. This is a 3 mile gradual up-hill hike (another 3 miles back down), but the views at the top are worth the hike if you have the time! This is the spot where we're officially getting married at sunrise with our sisters as witnesses.

Brockway Mountain Drive

Brockway Mountain Drive, Copper Harbor, MI

Scenic drive/overlook. The fall colors should be popping this time of year! It's about a 45min drive from Hancock/Houghton. It's a great way to see the colors without having to hike as you can drive all the way to the top of the overlook.

Eagle Harbor Lighthouse

670 Lighthouse Road, Eagle Harbor, MI 49950

Historic lighthouse with scenic views of Lake Superior. The Clevengers/Marshalls have a long history of raising families in Eagle Harbor.

Great Sand Bay

Michigan 26, Mohawk, MI 49950

Lake Superior public beach on northwest side of the Keweenaw with gorgeous views.

Bete Grise

Bete Grise, MI 49950

Lake Superior public beach on southeast side of the Keweenaw with gorgeous views.

Agate Beach

North Shore Trail, Copper Harbor, MI 49950

Lake Superior Beach - perfect spot for agate hunting!

Brunette Park

Mohawk, MI 49950

Another nice beach & small park on the southeast of the Keweenaw we tend to frequent in the summer months.

Mount Bohemia Ski Resort

6532 Gay Lac La Belle Road, Mohawk, MI 49950

The ski hill that James frequents during the winter months. They have a nice outdoor space with a pool, hot/cold tubs, and delicious wood-oven pizzas and drinks for purchase. Year round rentals & outdoor activities.

Keweenaw Mountain Lodge

14252 US Highway 41, Copper Harbor, MI 49918

Golf course and mountain bike rentals available. Free Mountain biking available connected with Copper Harbor Trails. We enjoy using their cross country trails for skijoring with our huskies (mutts). Year round rentals & outdoor activities.

Keweenaw Brewing Company

408 Shelden Avenue, Houghton, MI 49931

We recommend the Red Ridge, Widow Maker, the Hard Seltzer, or the Root beer!

Cliff View Bar & Cabins

Cliff Drive, Eagle River, MI 49950

Aunt Marjie owns the bar! Stop in for her pudding shots (amazing!)

Fitzgerald's Restaurant

5033 Front Street, Eagle River, MI 49950

Enjoy some fine dining while watching the waves on Lake Superior. Reservations are usually needed. The BBQ and Falafel are excellent choices!

Phoenix Store

5542 US Highway 41, Mohawk, MI 49950

Our favorite little convenience store in the area. Keep it up, keep it in the U.P.!

Michigan House Cafe and Brew Pub

300 6th Street, Calumet Township, MI 49913

A Calumet classic with history, eats, and drinks.

The Mariner North Resort

245 Gratiot Street, Copper Harbor, MI 49918

Nice lunch/dinner spot if you make it up to Copper Harbor. Plenty of options for vegans/vegetarians as well.

For all the days along the way
