We met at Belmont Abbey College right before Joey's 21st birthday. Joey played lacrosse and Melissa played soccer so our paths didn't cross too often. Once we officially met we found out we had a lot in common and started dating soon after. We finished college going to each others games, getting dinner at our favorite restaurants (cookout and bojangles), and hanging out with our friends. We graduated in 2015 and began our post grad-life together (but actually long distance).

Melissa's parents came to visit and we decided to be tourists and go to "The Edge" at Hudson Yards. After taking in the views at the top of the tower we went down to Little Spain for some tapas. About halfway through Joey got a "phone call" from Sydney saying that she was "sick" and needed to stop by our apartment. Joey CitiBiked back and set up the most beautiful scene at the roof of our apartment building with the help of Beth, Sydney, Kyle, Bryn, and Billie. When Melissa and her parents got back to her apartment they decided to go up to the roof where Joey was standing, ring in hand, ready to propose. As Melissa does, she started crying, and said YES. The celebration began!
