Catherine and Joey met when they were only three years old attending Pre-K in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. They do not remember the details of when they met, but they remember that it was love at first sight. From the moment they met, they were inseparable. They would play together, sit together, eat together, and nap together. It got to the point that their teachers had to keep them separated in class, or even put them in different classes all together. Once third grade came along, Joey moved to Mississippi. But they knew it wouldn’t be the end! Both Catherine and Joey’s parents assured they would stay in touch through their cell phones and set up dates for them to meet up. Joey attended Catherine’s cheer competitions, Catherine attended Joey’s basketball games, and they would go trick-or-treating together on Halloween. As they got older, they knew that they were falling in love but it would be difficult since they lived in different cities. Despite the distance, Joey popped the first question one night on the Sisson’s dock in the summer of 2015 “will you be my girlfriend?” They could not get enough of each other, and not much has changed since. Their high school years were full of football games, volleyball games, proms, and Civinettes dances. College was coming quickly around the corner as Joey was receiving his scholarship offers and Catherine was applying to universities. As Joey committed to Tulane, Catherine knew she would be attending Alabama. Despite the four hour distance, separating was never a conversation. Catherine cheered him on at every game she could and Joey came back to Tuscaloosa every chance he got. As years passed, the conversation of marriage kept popping up. Catherine moved to New Orleans after she graduated to start a new chapter of life closer to Joey. One short year later, Joey popped the second question in the same spot he asked the first “will you marry me?” and the best is yet to come!
