Joel's all-time favorite restaurant in the DC area. He describes RAD as unpretentious but elevated, well-travelled but homely, consistent but fresh. A most worthy reason for crossing the Potomac. Book ahead if you plan on dining during peak hours.
A great way to spend a morning or afternoon is walking around the National Mall. There are many free world class museums, art galleries, monuments, and memorials with more to see than the day is long. A pro tip is to rent a bike or scooter to cover more ground. There are also bus tours that can curate an itinerary for you. Keep in mind that distances between sites are deceptively far. For you night owls, we recommend going after dark to enjoy the monuments without crowds or noise.
