It all started on Facebook. Weird right? A little game had said that each of us would have a child on the same date, from there Christin became Baby Mama, and I became Baby Daddy. From there we would talk here and there and make jokes, but nothing serious. Then came a Sunday night service at our church. That night I was leading worship on stage, I should have known that through worship is where God would deliver true happiness to me. After service Christin insisted she couldn't leave before giving me a hug, and from the moment she did, something felt final. It felt right. That night she texted me saying I should take her on a date once I turn 20 (I had just turned 19). I laughed and told her we'd be together before then (she didn't believe me). Sure enough in September we had our first date, and became official in October. Since then we have each been through hardships, but stayed by each others side through all of it. And we still will stand by each other. Forever. -Joel
I remember seeing Joel around at church and noticing how everyone seemed to love him and laugh when he was around. I was intrigued. I wanted to see what the fuss was about. We started saying, "Hey" in passing and would talk a little bit though Facebook. Nothing major. Then one Sunday night I saw Joel down in the alter worshiping Jesus and it was like I couldn't look away. I loved watching his worship. I then said a silent prayer to God, asking Him to give me a man like that one day. After church was over that night I felt like I couldn't leave that building without giving him hug. And once I gave him that hug something just felt final. I knew I wanted to get to know him more, but I didn't want to push it since he was younger than I was. But one thing lead to another and then age didn't seem to matter anymore. God answered my silent prayer and gave me the man I saw worshiping in the alter. He gave me my best friend. I love you, Joel. Always.
