They met in the fall of 2018 while working at Uniqlo Bellevue. The chaos started when Na Eun made a mistake closing down the registers, to which Joe had to rescue. Sort of. They're both very bad at math and forced the night's problem for tomorrow's people. However, this sparked an unforgettable friendship in this young couple's short lived career. Little did Joe know that this incident was not the beginning. When Na Eun saw Joe on the first day of work, she told herself, "that boy will be my best friend" >:) Na Eun was determined to not let that register incident go to waste. Their friendship continued to grow and it was not until Na Eun moved to South Center and a 2 week vacation in Korea, that Joe realized, "oh shoot, I miss her". Joe would stay up late past midnight texting her. As soon as Na Eun came back, Joe took the bait that Na Eun, threw by telling him that she wanted to watch 'Twilight'. The 'Twilight' marathon began and everyday at work, it was no longer 2 friends joking around but something more was happening. The couple was more than aware about it, but avoiding since Na Eun was the manager and Joe the supervisor of the store. Then Covid happened and it gave the two a chance to spend more time together outside of work, and on March 16th, 2020 the two officially started dating after Joe surprised Na Eun with a kiss. Then Joe lost his job.
