We first crossed paths in the most unexpected of places. Sadly, Joe’s mom had suddenly passed away. Meanwhile, Ale —who had recently met Joe’s sisters— felt inspired to come support them. And so we met. We were both in other relationships at the time, but definitely took notice of each other. Ale saw Joe as the strong, calm cohesion in the room. A spiritual leader. Joe was especially busy, but something about Ale had left an impression. Flash forward a few months later. Good friends Mike and Sylvia invited us separately to come celebrate their engagement. Joe was Mike's roommate. Sylvia was Ale's friend. Neither of us expected to see either one there. Ale wanted to go dance, but somehow was convinced to stop by and celebrate Sylvia’s engagement. Joe was in the room, Ale recognized his familiar face. The conversation started. After dancing, going to a near by pub and ending the stormy night at Ale's apartment, two now familiar strangers decided to host. Sylvia, Mike, Gaby and Brigid where the last standing. Ale made arepas, Joe started mixing cocktails. This love story began in the kitchen, hosting and celebrating friends.
