Picture it- Elizabethtown College security office circa summer of 2002. Gordon was a police officer for the local Elizabethtown Police and Jody was a student patrol officer for campus security and was working that summer at the college. One of Gordon's best friends, Ryan, was a security officer at the college and Gordy would visit him from time to time during that summer. Jody and Gordy became friends. Eventually they attempted to date but the timing wasn't right. Jody moved to Texas in 2006 and though her and Gordy kept in touch and Gordy visited Jody a few times in her new home of Texas again things didn't work out to have a relationship. Gordy loved Jody but unfortunately she did not feel the same for him and married Mike Johnson in June of 2008. Fast forward to 2021 after Mike lost his 10 year battle to cancer and Jody and Gordy reconnected memorial day weekend of 2021. Jody and Gordy had not seen each other in almost 14 years and Jody assumed she would feel the same about Gordy as she did years ago. Boy was she wrong! Jody dropped Gordy off at the airport on Memorial day and felt an immediate loss and sadness at his departure. She cried all the way home and was shocked at how she felt. She questioned if Gordy would be able to give her another chance - to see if that love he had for her all those years ago still existed. All she could do was ask to see him again, to see where this could go and the rest is history. After months of traveling between Houston and Phoenix every two weeks Gordy made the move to Houston and here they are getting married June 10th, 2023!
