We met in our first month of medical school at the University of Cincinnati. We were spending lots of time together right off the bat in the same study group, playing on the same intramural volleyball team, and going to Bellarmine Chapel in the same church group. The chemistry was evident early on the volleyball court with us setting each other up for some gnarly hits no matter where we were on the court. Thanks to our med school friend and ultimate hype-man, Aseem, Tommy got the courage to ask Jocelyn on a date. It started with a casual coffee date at Dunkin' Donuts before Sunday morning mass. When Tommy asked what time to pick her up, Jocelyn told him an hour-and-a-half before they needed to leave for church (she had to give Tommy the hint that "Yes, I do indeed want to spend time with you...please ask me out!"). This set the stage for our first ~official~ date: bonding over sweaty armpits when hiking at Ault Park before dinner at a Mediterranean restaurant in Hyde Park. Other early dates included over-staying our welcome by eating tacos and chatting for 3+ hours at Los Potrillos and marveling at the works in the art museum in Eden Park. On October 29, 2019, Tommy asked Jocelyn, in typically Tommy fashion, "soooo...does this mean we are dating?"
