Bride
Joanna was born and raised in California. She has always loved anything outdoors (hiking, backpacking, taking their dog Sadie to the dog park), has an avid sweet tooth (that she turned into a short lived career while working at a bakery after college) and loves to get crafty (you will probably see some of her work around the wedding venue!). She met Joel while living in San Francisco working as an elementary school teacher. They immediately bonded over their shared sense of humor, California roots and love of experiencing the world through food. Fun Fact About Joanna: She was an extra in a movie with Ben Savage when she was in high school!
Joel
Groom
Joel was also born in California, but quickly moved to Colorado where he spent his childhood, college and a few postgrad years before making the trek back to his roots and living in the Bay Area. Joel has always loved music and even was a member of a band while living in Oakland. He loves to travel and has visited over 20 countries with various groups of friends. According to Joanna, he also has fantastic dance moves so keep an eye out for him on the dance floor! Fun Fact About Joel: When he was growing up, Joel got the lead role of Danny Zuko in his school's performance of Grease!
Shanley
Bridesmaid
Joanna and Shanley met while both living in San Francisco with Carole. In addition to both loving their abode on Hugo St, Joanna and Shanley shared a mutual love of being outside, waking up at 5 to go to spin class and road tripping to National Parks. Fun Facts About Shanley: she is an incredible pottery artist, makes the best St. Patrick's Day pancakes and is very good at falling asleep on car rides!
Eric
Groomsman
Eric joined Joel's small high school class and they immediately bonded over their shared sense of humor, predilection for not entirely paying attention at school and a habit of playing more video games than they probably should have (but they both turned out okay!). They put their friendship to the test when they traveled to Asia together for 3 months after high school; thankfully, even food poisoning in the Phillipines and getting stuck in a political protest in Nepal couldn't outweigh the life changing experience they shared on the trip together and have remained close friends ever since. Fun Fact About Eric: Before he trained for his current profession (a professional pilot), he trained to be a professional chef! He also is a collector of fine whiskeys and tequilas.
Frannie
Bridesmaid
Joanna and Frannie crossed paths at Trinity while both attempting to be student athletes and still have social lives. They bonded quickly over their shared love of music and spent many evenings driving around Hartford searching for the best banana splits they could find. Fun Facts About Frannie: she had 6 wisdom teeth (which is why she is so smart and also Joanna's go to person for hard truths and life advice)!
Noah
Groomsman
Noah and Joel have been friends for almost three decades! They met Joel's first year at Shining Mountain Waldorf school. In the last 30 years, Joel and Noah have attended Hebrew school, performed in numerous school plays and shared many adventures together. And if being in the same class of 30 kids from 1st to 12th grade, they also attended CSU together and lived as roommates for 3 years. Suffice it to say, they know each other pretty well! Fun Fact About Noah: Noah has played basketball his entire life and throughout his adult years has moonlighted as a basketball coach for multiple youth teams.
Carole
Bridesmaid
Joanna and Carole have known each other for over a decade; they met their junior year in college at Bates. They really solidified their friendship when they drove 13 hours in one day from Connecticut to South Carolina. When Joanna moved to San Francisco, Carole had an open room in her apartment on Hugo Street and they lived together for the next six years! In that time, they went on countless adventures, spent many evenings out exploring the city and enjoyed endless early mornings drinking coffee and watching their favorite TV shows. Fun Facts About Carole: she loves gnomes, fiercely believes in Sasquatch and is your go to person for riddles!
Peter
Groomsman
Peter and Joel also met at Shining Mountain Waldorf School in 1st grade. In a class where the girls vastly outnumbered the boys, Peter, Joel (and Noah and others) banded together. Despite Peter ditching Waldorf for public high school to pursue competitive basketball, they stayed close friends then and continue to be a part of each other's lives today. Whether they are drinking tequila in Mexico or drinking Arabic iced tea in Peter's back yard, they always have fun together. Fun Fact About Peter: He and his wife, Roxy, have a chicken coop and a substantial garden in their backyard! Joel and Joanna sometimes like to "drop by" just in case they have some fresh eggs or veggies to pawn off : )
Courtenay

Courtenay became a member of the Goldin family when she married Joanna's brother, Evan. Even before they were officially hitched, Joanna and Court were able to spend time bonding about their mutual love of adventure throughout the world: skiing in Lake Tahoe, drinking champagne in Paris and riding roller coasters at Harry Potter World. Fun Facts About Court: she is an Olympic synchronized swimmer!
Evan
Groomsman
Evan and Joel were brought together by Joanna, but forged their own friendship through their mutual love of the mountains, skiing, and giving Joanna a hard time. They have spent time in Lake Tahoe, Denver and San Francisco together chatting topics from product management to being a dog parent. Joel is excited to have Evan as a brother-in-law; he's looking forward to sharing more adventures, and more embarrassing stories about Joanna, in the future with him. Fun Fact About Evan: He is one of the only people Joel and Joanna know that has taken a childhood love and turned it into a lifelong career; Evan has always been obsessed with anything with wheels (trains, cars, trucks) and although he started his career at Lyft he has now transitioned into creating his own company that is revolutionizing the parking world!
Karen & Robert
Bride's Parents
Karen and Robert forged the path for Joanna and Joel to meet on a dating app; they met talking over the phone for work in the 1970's! Karen was living in her home state of Michigan at the time and Robert had already moved to the sunshine state of California. Between his charm, photography skills and the allure of California dreamin', it didn't take much to convince Karen to move to California with him. They have been together, and lived in California where they raised Joanna and Evan, ever since!
Paul & Jane
Groom's Parents
Paul and Jane also met while Paul was living in California and Jane was in the midwest. Jane eventually moved to Challenge, a small, rural town in the mountains of California, and that is where they started their life together! After some time, they decided to head east with their boys and settled in Boulder, nestled next to an open space preserve and living the mile high dream.
