Camden and I have known each other since high school. We had a subtle quiet friendship that mostly consisted of us making faces at each other from across the room. We would hang out with friends from youth group, but our friendship really started to grow when we went to community college together. We would hang out with friends from youth group in between classes, but sometimes it was just us hanging out together. It was then that I started to have a crush on Camden, but I didn't think much of it because we would soon be moving on to different colleges. We enjoyed each others friendship and even went to prom together, but we went strictly as friends! When summer hit we were preparing to go on a mission trip to Madras OR with our youth group. We were going there to put on a children's camp at a local church (we were games leaders together) and it was on that trip that we started to notice we were more than friends. *hands computer to Camden* Interestingly enough, a week before the trip I made the decision that I didn't want to pursue any relationships due to some past heartache. I told God, "You're going to have to throw someone in my face before I consider ever dating anyone." Less than a week later, that's exactly what He did. I noticed on the trip that Joanna was sticking around me more than usual and I remember my first thought was, "I like this." Through the trip we hung around each other a little more and had lots of fun together. The day before we left we sat down and had the "talk". I liked her. She liked me. After talking to the parents and exciting conversations telling friends, specifically Emily Henry and Caleb and Ashley Freshour (all of this being a day after the trip), we shook on it and started dating. We have seen God work in amazing ways throughout the years as He has guided and directed our relationship. Your prayers for us as we continue forward would be oh so greatly appreciated as we continue our life ahead.
