Joanna and Alessandro's story started where most stories don't - at a midtown bar called Calico Jack's in Manhattan. Joanna was out with her roommates and Alessandro was fifth wheeling his friends. Bored, Alessandro walked over to Joanna and her roommate, who were on their phones at the time, and used the classic line, "Man you guys look like you're having fun." Joanna and her roommate rolled their eyes, but Joanna likes talking to people, so they chatted until a Nicki Minaj song she loved came on and she ran away to dance on the dance floor.

Two and a half years later, they finally began dating. Since then, they have done a lot together. They have gone to many, many music festivals, traveled around the U.S. and abroad, attended too many weddings to count, and moved across the country to California.

It was in California where Alessandro proposed. They had gone to Lake Tahoe with another couple. It was their first couples trip as well as vacation since the COVID-19 pandemic began. Alessandro commissioned a bunch of different artists to create pieces telling their story, and he created an art gallery overlooking the lake, where he proposed. Saying yes was the easiest decision Joanna (who is a notoriously awful decision-maker) ever made. Since then, Joanna and Alessandro moved back home to the greatest city in the world to begin their next chapter together. They are so excited to celebrate with you!
