They met on OkCupid. For those of you who don't know, it's like Match.com or eHarmony, only a little less serious. Or like Tinder, except way more words. Intrigued by her writing, Anthony made the initial volley in May 2014: "Enjoyed reading your profile .... Beautifully written...." At that time, Joanne had only just stepped into the world wide web of dating after a recent divorce. The words "classical pianist" leapt out from Anthony's profile. To test his credibility, she inquired, "What Ravel concertos are your fave(s)?" (not realizing there's only one...) Ever the smooth operator, Anthony overlooked her faux pas and responded with Ravel in G Major, a piece Joanne had on her "Stuff I Love" playlist. After trading a few more messages, he wrote to her, "I'm very intrigued by you, J! Love your imaginative writing, vibe and attitude, beautiful pictures - would you like to chat or meet for a drink sometime?" She said yes.
