How insufferable can they be?! They literally met on a yacht in La Paz, Mexico amongst their favorite people in a beautiful location, and of course, they had to live on the complete opposite sides of the country! They often say how lucky they are to have met and connected as deeply as they did. A mix of happenstance and the perfect combination of mezcal, wine, and being disconnected from the internet and the distractions of "real life." Day in and day out on the boat they got to connect through deep conversation, long walks on the beach collecting shells, and an epic hike up a mountain overlooking their boat and their peers. Their friends were their biggest fans and encouraged the whole process. It was a dream in the moment, and they were sad for "future JJ and Kyle" going back to the real world. This all went down days after Thanksgiving 2022. Once they returned to their respective homes they stayed in contact, both feeling each other out. JJ "leaned in" and offered some open dates she had before Christmas to potentially come and visit. Kyle enthusiastically said yes! The first visit JJ had to the West Coast was filled with adventure, cooking, laughing and lots and lots of coughing and sneezing! She brought with her some form of illness which kept her from flying back to NYC, and she ended up staying over a week through Christmas. This time together they connected more deeply, spending every sneezing moment together. Kyle now reflects on how he wanted to make this visit memorable for JJ and to show San Francisco as a contender to NYC. He took her to Buena Vista for Irish Coffees, Swan Oyster Depot for fresh fish and did several hikes, including the most memorable was the day trip to Muir Woods to see the Red Woods and a stop off in Tamales Bay for chowder and oysters. He did an excellent job convincing her, despite illness. Over the next year, they always made a plan to see each other and the longest time apart they ever spent was six weeks - excruciating! Within this year they have traveled thousands upon thousands of miles to see each other and adventure in Tahoe, Hungary, Germany, France, Spain, Mexico (Mexico City, La Paz, Oaxaca, San Miguel de Allende), The Poconos, Southern CA, Camping in Th Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, Montana, Idaho....and they are planning their honeymoon to Japan and Vietnam. They are so excited to share their love with all of you and for future adventures!
