After dating all of the wrong people in my 20's and 30's and finally recognizing that the common equation was me (cue Taylor Swift's, "Hi, It's me. I'm the problem, it's me" lyrics), I began a path of loving myself, deeply and completely. It was then, that I knew I was ready to date again and find my true match. Tired of dating websites and wading through profiles of people who put their best foot forward, I took a friend's advice and downloaded the Tinder app. She shared a new perspective that led me to see it as an option, after I had been turned off from it. A few swipes right, and I connected with Jim. I recognized him not by his looks, but by his energy. We connected on a Friday, made plans to meet Tuesday the next week, and three dates in, we knew there was magic in the making. We exchanged "I love you's" within weeks of meeting each other. Truly, it was like a homecoming. It wasn't like we had "found" each other; it was more like being with each other was a remembrance of who we each were on a soul level. We let the mask drop, our walls came down and we knew we had reached a level of safety that we'd each never experienced before. We had found ourselves in another person, and the rest was history. We met in April of 2018 and Jim moved out of his apartment and in with me into my condo that summer. We both had an affinity for photography and Jim saw my natural eye through using my phone. We used his first month's rent to find me a camera and soon began taking day trips to practice and hone my skills. We began creating annual calendars of our landscape and nature photography together and our love for photography organically began to morph into a business over the next two years, until we made it official and began Seeking Spirit Photography. We started with nature, but began photographing people. It started as a hobby, but capturing the love, joy and connection became a passion of ours and still is to this day.
