Before starting, try typing "Kokee State Park" into your GPS/phone... You won't have any cell reception once you get up the hill. Head west on HWY 50 (Kaumualii HWY) to Waimea, HI. Take a RIGHT at sign for the Waimea Canyon/HWY 550 and drive to the first stop sign after several miles. At the stop sign continue forward (or veere slightly right) to head toward Koke'e State Park. The road will end at a scenic lookout if you go too far... Upon reaching Koke`e State Park, stay on the main road and take the first right after Koke`e Lodge turn off. Follow the dirt road 1/2 mile and look for wooden Camp Sloggett sign. Turn right at the sign and follow the road into the large clearing that is our campground.
