Rental Car
Renting/driving a car in Italy as a US Citizen requires an IDP - International Driving Permit - which is a translation of your US license. Folks in the US can get them via AAA in person or by mail, just need a couple of passport photos and their license (copies of the front and back if apply by mail). Ones that folks have from previous trips likely expired - they only last a year.
