We Are Getting Married

Garrett and I were both Division 1 college athletes at Ball State University, which meant we were both in study tables together. Fast forward 6 years later....when he finally accepted my friend request; after MANY years! I just happen to send him a message to see how he was doing and what he had been up to since graduating. Now please know that this is way out of my comfort zone to send a message 1st. After many messages back and forth, the ball was in his court. Wondering would he actually get the guts to reach our via text message. From the 1st Facebook message, to Garrett getting the guts to text me, that is when our love story began.

Who would've thought that our country would completely shut down due to COVID-19?? Just our luck right as we were planning our first date, everything closed down. Stores, movie theaters, anything really inside. So we had to get creative and figure out what we could do that was outdoors but still get to know each other. That is when we decided to hike, Fort Harrison State Park. It was perfect weather that day, we get to the first trail that was a little muddy due to rain. As we were hiking I said to Garrett, "Oh my.....look there is a pig in the river!" He looked at me very funny and starting laughing. As we got closer I noticed it was a dog. We followed the map to the next trail, where we promptly got lost. Few things he learned about me that day, she has some interesting vision, and she can't read a map.

We were in Ft. Myers, FL for my Spring Break. We got to the condo and unpacked everything that night before his family got there. Once his family arrived, everyone got settled and we headed to the beach. This is when the secret side conversations were happening. Here I am setting up on the beach and everyone is huddled over talking secretively, which continued for the next 2 days. After 3 days of secret conversations, and whispering, I was getting a bit suspicious and wondering what was really going on. We planned family pictures at the beach at 5 o'clock. We head down early and the entire family was already there. Little did I know at that time it had already been planned that Garrett would propose. I turned around and he was on one knee. We had quite the audience from families around the complex. Let me just say it was a proposal of my dreams.
