In 2005, I met Hannah in our seventh grade science class. Middle school is the worst, but I had the biggest crush on her and didn’t know how to tell her, so I resorted to getting on her nerves. Clearly that didn’t work out. Fast forward 8 years. It’s the spring of 2013, and I finally built up the courage to ask Hannah on a date. I was at UCA, and Hannah was pursuing a cosmetology degree. We hit it off over a crunchy crab roll and chicken fried rice. Later that summer, we went on vacation with my family, and I had purchased a promise ring. I had this great idea to hide the promise ring in Hannah’s favorite candy, Swedish Fish. A few months later, we went our separate ways, but little did we know what the future had in store for us. In 2019, Hannah became a mom to Sawyer. In 2021, I slid into Hannah’s DMs, and we picked up right where we left off. On the weekends, you’ll usually find us calling the hogs, hanging out on the golf course, attending concerts, eating at Patron or Brick Oven, making weekly runs to Sam’s and Costco, checking out the clearance section at Wal-Mart, or binge watching movies on Netflix. This summer, ten years after the promise ring, I got down on one knee and asked Hannah to marry me at the beach, and I can’t wait to have Hannah and Sawyer by my side for the rest of my life. We can’t wait to celebrate our marriage with everyone on March 23, 2024. Hannah, it was always you!
