Back in the olden days of 2012, when online dating was still the wild west, we were matched on a dating site and started getting to know each other. Our first date was at the Irish Coffee House in WeHo, which is now sadly closed, but back on that fateful day we talked mostly about movies and TV for hours (fun fact: Jess found out about her NBC Page interview while Kareem was refilling the parking meter!). From there, we went on to have two more dates in five days; first for real Irish coffee at Molly Malone's, and then to a TV night at Kareem's for the season 5 premiere of Breaking Bad. Those TV nights became a staple (shoutout JP!), giving us an excuse to keep seeing each other on a weekly basis. We started binging Deadwood next, and the rest is history...

Inspired by one of our most favorite movies, Kareem concocted an elaborate scheme to pop the question in a beautiful room at the Bellagio overlooking the dancing fountains. He even roped in Jess's brother and sister-in-law to be part of the crew! We celebrated with a weekend of classic Vegas debauchery*, Kareem and Jess-style. *great food, massages, and pool-lounging
