Let’s Party!

After a lonely season of quarantine and slow jazz music in dark closets, the bride and groom met through the dating app, Hinge. They initially connected over their shared ability to ‘make inappropriate jokes at inappropriate times.’ They soon found out that Ernie’s roommate and very good friend was the little brother of Jess’s older brother’s (Shawn’s) roommate and very good friend from college! Jess and Ernie were pleased to have made this connection and felt like less of strangers afterwards. After weeks of 8-hour+ FaceTime calls, they decided it was time to meet in person. Ernie said that Jess was ‘even prettier in person’ and Jess admired the expensive wine and flowers that Ernie gave her. After a walk through Rockford Park, Delaware Art Museum, and dinner homemade by Jess, the couple was head over heels for each other. After many more dates, they had their first date out at a restaurant since the two were finally both vaccinated for COVID and restaurants were just then opening up. Ernie took Jess to Time, a jazz bar in Philly, where he bought her a rose and asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes of course. They would return to this location three years later when Ernie asked Jess for his hand in marriage.
