Our love story began in Orlando, back in 2011. Derek and Jessica met each at law school in their first year of law school. Some flirtatious banter was exchanged back and forth over the first year of law school, but summer came and they lost touch. Jessica and Derek reconnected the second year of law school and the rest is history! Over 6 years worth of memories later that includes graduating law school together, purchasing a home, and adding our 2 furry children, Reese and Harlow to our family.

Derek decided to propose to Jessica at Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa on Christmas Eve knowing that they would be together with her parents and sister. Going to Bern's Steakhouse was Jessica's family tradition for Christmas Eve since she was a child. At dinner, Jessica noticed that her Dad kept staring off at space, but he assured her that he was ok. Jessica was not aware that her family knew the proposal was coming and that her Dad was nervous for Derek :) Dinner was over and everyone went upstairs to the Dessert Room. The party got a table and proceed to ordered drinks and dessert. A server then came up to the table with a cart that contained a bottle of champagne and glasses. Jessica proceeded to let the server know that they had not ordered champagne when she noticed the server flash her a big grin. Jessica looked over and Derek was on his knee with a beautiful engagement ring in his hand. Derek gave a beautiful speech asking her to marry him, which made her cry, and of course she said yes !!
