We met our freshman year at George Mason University in Communications 101 class. Jesse sat next to Chloe because he thought she was beautiful. He asked for her number because he wanted to invite her to a Theta Chi party. They ended up going to "bid night" together and shared their first kiss! The rest is history.
Jesse was working at Berkley Net in the Financial Department in Woodbridge, Virginia. Chloe was working at Fishbowl as a Digital Marketing Manager in Old Town Alexandria. Jesse had his mind made up that he must work at Vanguard because of it's reputation as an Investment Firm and emphasis on their clients financial success. Chloe grew up in Tempe, Arizona and she missed her friends on the West Coast. We quit our jobs, packed up our cars (that we shipped), and moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to start our own little adventure! Although we miss our family on the East Coast we have shared some amazing memories here. Chloe now works for Cold Stone Creamery HQ as a Social & Digital Marketing Manager and Jesse works at Vanguard as a Broker in their Investment department. Our good friends, Ryan and Brooke, moved from Virginia to Arizona (10 minutes down the street from us). It's been so nice to have a little piece of home here in Arizona. We've had lots of visitors and have done road trips to San Diego, Sedona, Flagstaff and VEGAS baby!!! We have loved living in Arizona the past three years and hope to move back to the East Coast in the near future!
Jesse and Chloe were visiting the Outer Banks for the annual McCarty Party. We were getting ready for our family photo like usual but Jesse was acting strange.... He was pacing the room, sweating profusely and said yes every time Chloe wanted to take a selfie with him (If you know anything about Jesse, you know he HATES taking lots of photos). We were all down at the beach wrapping up our group shot when Uncle Page said, "let's take some smaller group photos, we can start with Mr. and Mrs. McCarty!" Everyone started to walk away and Jesse grabbed Chloe's hand and asked her to marry him in front of his entire family and favorite people on the planet. We were so lucky to share that moment with family members that are so special to us both. We celebrated with a champagne toast (and maybe some shots with the cousins)! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Virginia!
